ABOUT KARI
Kari Loya
I help big dreamer-doers clarify where they want to go, get there, and smile along the way.
From billionaires to inner-city six-year olds and everything in between, I have had the privilege of working with an extraordinary range of people across four continents.
No matter their background, everyone is trying to clarify where they want to go, how to get there, and how to smile along the way.
Through deep listening, powerful questions, and gently nudging them into action, I love empowering individuals and teams on their bold journeys.
Empowering [What do you need to learn right now?]
I started my career teaching in a first and second grade, Spanish bilingual classroom in Pasadena as part of Teach For America. That fueled a life-long passion for education and empowering others. Since then, I have worked with a range of innovative educational organizations, from a prominent language school in Rio de Janeiro to a charter school in Silicon Valley. From a leading educational foundation in Los Angeles to a pioneering international school in New York City. Most recently, I served as head of an independent school in the Caribbean before beginning to coach others. Along the way, I graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College and earned an MBA from Columbia University. I’ll help you identify and learn what’s needed right now.
Storytelling [What do you want your story to be?]
I love using stories to inspire action. As an Emmy-winning bilingual voiceover artist, I am privileged to tell the stories of clients all over the globe, from :15 promos for CNN to 60-minute narrations for History Channel. As an author, I took a unique approach to celebrating a milestone birthday, and most recently, I chronicled an epic father-son adventure while sharing the stories of 300 Americans of all walks of life along the way. I also spoke at TEDx UC Davis in April 2022 on the theme of “metamorphosis.” As a budding musical artist, I have enjoyed the challenge - and vulnerability - of learning to tell three-minute musical stories to make people smile, think, and move. I’ll help you live YOUR story.
Adventuring [Go for it! Follow your curiosity... But how will you respond to adversity?]
Every outdoor adventure is a wonderful metaphor for other journeys in life. It could be an Ironman triathlon. Or climbing one of the Seven Summits. Or crossing the Andes on horseback. Or running with the bulls in Pamplona. Or maybe just viewing New York City in four unique, active ways. And every one of these journeys - at some point - includes the villains of VUCA. Which helps us build our capacity for working through adversity... so that we are better prepared for the unexpected adventures life throws at us. I’ll help you embrace challenge and overcome adversity.
